Thanks to this forum for pointing out a Maverick Grabber in my local area, I went ahead and made the purchase.

I'm having it shipped to my local Body Shop and should arrive by next Thursday.

I bought it site unseen as the seller seemed very honest with me. I know it is going to be a tough project to the say the least, but I am in no rush. If I could dump my 2007 Mustang GT project, I could get this one finished a hell of lot quicker.

According to the VIN, it is a 71 Grabber with a 302 V8, St. Thomas Plant. The original color appears to be Grabber Green as I look at the door jams.

The passenger window is missing. Does anyone have one that is in good condition they could send me? I would like to get it installed to protect from the elements.

Here are some pics. It is a ugly mug right now! The spoiler and hood are all intact as are the front and rear bumpers. The 302 is missing, but the manual tranny is present. The pictures below are from his craigslist listing.

Another thing, not to bum you out, but the underside of those hoods goes bad, right at the front. I hope you didn't pay a grand for it.....

I paid $900. The guy selling it has it at a Body Shop currently and the Body Ghop relayed to him that it was going to be a pretty easy restoration. He said other than the surface rust, the body panels were all in good shape.

Once it arrives I'll know the real story. If I lose the $900 and can't do anything with it, I guess I'll live and learn. It's not the end of the world.

I do appreciate any advice in terms of what to look for. Thanks again!

Anyone who has a passenger side window for sale, holler at me!

Where are you located? Most guys don't like to ship glass.

No doubt. I'm in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Being that its origin was St. Thomas, I thought I read something about the glass mounting holes were different than US built cars. I'll have to research....

    Thanks,

It all depends upon the year of the car, not where it was built.

Hey Apex. I'm also in Raleigh -- North Raleigh. There's a junk yard just across the border in Virginia that has 13 Mavericks. I went up there looking for a windshield and hood and found neither but for sure there's a side window up there. But, you might be able to get one shipped for less than the gas to drive up there.

Just poking around in a yard is worth the price of gas ... even without a window!

:Welcome: - I hope it all works out for you .... the color combo rocks!
