well i Bided on ebay and won. I got the left sport miroir for $19. So i think i got a good deal. Its got one dent where the lense is, but thats the only damage. The thing i love about it is that is has the remote thing for the interior.

Ya im hppy with it. Im going to install it on monday.
I have the right side one where you just posision it by hand. But its a little smaller than the one i just bought. I think the one i bought is a 1970 and the right side is a 1972. And there both off mavericks.
Would there be any diferance in years.

    Kris,

Nice buy there. To fix that dent, you can pull the mirror and cables away from the shell and just mask them well. They are pretty hard to take all the way apart and put back together. Got one in pieces right now myself...... putting a Maverick pedestal on a Montego mirror.

Size difference ... as far as I know, Ford used the same bullet-shaped part of the mirror for all of their 70s models that used them. What was different was the pedestals because they mount them all at differing angles and contours. Is it the pedestal that is the different size? ... if so, you are going to have a problem. There should be a "D0DB ..." part number under each. Pretty hard to read on some of them, down by the square end of the pedestal. If it doesn't have that part number, the mirror might end up at a wrong angle.

Also, it has been discussed here a few times ... you might want to look at moving the mirrors forward on the door. They look better that way and are easier to use than when in the factory position.

Its the mirror housing on the right side thats smaller Than the one i just got.

And they both say D0DB. I know for a fact the right one came off a maverick. I bought it up in goerga, watched him take it off.
