just bought another 5.0 HO motor from a '90 Mustang. didnt need it but a friend called and said he got it in and ask if i wanted it. he priced it for $300 and i told him i would be there today. got there and went to load it up and he brought out the upper intake and air tube (they already pulled them off) and come to find out, it has a GT40 intake on it. not to mention a BBK cold air intake and underdrive pullies. well got it home and pulled the valve covers off and it's got the Ford Crane Cams 1.72 roller rockers on it. oh, and i got the AOD for free and it has a shift kit in it all for...... $300
rockers Are those rockers any good? I have a set on a spare motor as well. I was thinking of swaping for the no name brand on the car now. They sure look like a quality piece. trouble is , I'm not sure of the ratio on the existing ones, anyone know a why to determine this ?
Ok, GT40 intake, Ford/Crane rockers....Are you sure its not a Cobra motor? Did you check to see if it has GT40 heads on it? Regardless, that's a killer score!
Judging by the third pic, I'm guessing you don't need those valve covers we were talking about anymore? Awesome score!!
Sorry to have to tell you this, but that is NOT a GT40 intake. That is the ealier GT39 intake. Not quite as good a deal as you thought...
Not only that, that air filter element is filthy. It's gonna have to be replaced! You got suckered!!!
