is anyone running this type of serpentine belt setup? i plan to run it on my '71 when i drop the new engine in. ive already bought the setup, so mainly just wondering if anyone likes/dislikes it. thanks in advance
What engine are you putting in? What are your plans for the power steering pump etc? I just did a EFI (90 5L HO) and had to get a newr alternator as well as a newer power steering pump off the mustang in order to have it so the serpentine belt system still work.
running a 5.0 HO EFI setup as well. i have 3 extra 3G alternator and 2 extra power steering pumps so everything should be in order. just ordered a Roush reverse rotation water pump to run on it
I just bought this setup from CFR for my car, i thought it would fit my 351w but the alternator bracket doesn't fit right. so im going to make my own out of a piece a aluminum. also the power steering bolts do not fit the power steering pump cause the bolt are metric and the pump is standerd thread, same goes for the alternator bracket long bolt (right size wrong thread) i tried to thread it in to a 302 head that didn't work ether. other then the bolts not fitting i think it should work great on a 302.
yeah, im gonna run this setup on my 5.0/302. i read where it wouldnt work with a 351w so i should be good. it may take a bit to get it on the motor before i drop it in but when it's installed, there will be pics! lots and lots of pics! lol
this is what i got. http://www.cfrperformance.com/HZ_4300_PBL_KIT_p/hz-4300-pbk-kit.htm http://www.cfrperformance.com/Ford_Mustang_Serpentine_Kit_p/hz-4300-kit.htm
nice setup! if i would have seen that then i would have bought it instead of peicing everything together for the same money. would work perfect on mine where's it's all metric thread and 302 based btw, what would u sell your's for?
well im still going to use mine i just can't use a few bolts and the alternator bracket. i suppose with the bracket you could get the rest of the alternator hardware at the hardware store. i'd sell just the bracket for $10 though.
