Thats a good buy as far as I'm concerned. Not the tan one that was on ebay is it? There was a really clean car with fresh paint that caught my eye. Started around 6500 and dropped a couple of times if I remember right.

I was offered 8 grand for mine. No way. Too much time and effort involved. True rust free cars are worth money up here. Paid 5 for it then stripped it. Cant wait for this season.

Anyways, to me I could care less what someone offered me to buy my car, I didn't build it to turn around and sell it, I built it because it's what I've always wanted. Since I was a kid, I always wanted a rust free California car, with A/C, and now I've got it. I've had my 74 Grabber for 20+ years now, someone called me once to buy it, and I turned him down also.
I grew up in a neighbourhood that was full of Mavericks and Pintos, and other Fords, since almost everyone worked at the St.Thomas Assembly Plant, they were everywhere.
I've owned a few Mustangs over the years, and a few Buicks (yes Buicks) but I still like my Mavericks, I could care less what anyone thinks of them, or what the market value is.

I was offerd $4500 for my green 71 grabber and turned it down. Not to say its worth more but to me it is. For what they are bringing now and what I paid and me being from the old school of the $50 dollar mavs, I will probally never sell my Mavs unless its very serious needing of money.

Hey now, easy on the little parts cars. My little parts car is likely to be currently the most driven Maverick in the United States, if not the world. LOL I've done 82,000 miles in 3 1/2 years. Or 93,000 miles total I've driven in a Maverick since May of 2005 (wrecked the first Mav). If gas stays at a decent price, with the number of things I have planned to do this year as well as driving the car 70 miles back and forth to work every day, this year is probably going to be a record year for me as far as mileage put on the car in one year, and I've already started off the year strong racking up the mileage. The car literally was somebody's parts car when I bought it in December of 2005. :biglaugh:

i was offered $1000 plus a ugly 95 Lincoln limo (the stereo in the limo was enough to buy two mavericks).

I was offered $3,000 from a guy at a dragstrip when i first got the car. I was not racing but was there with my wife. I turned it down because for one, I just bought the car and joined this group and loved it!!! and not to mention, he was drunk....did not take him too seriously!!!!!!!!! :rofl2::rofl2:
Maybe if he pulled out a wad of cash!

Dave, I think you some it up for all of us we don't build them to flip them and make a profit. It has never been a good investment to do that no matter what the car or the brand it's a labor of love. For the Great American Love affair with the car!!!!!!!p/s sgaugeguy that's was hilarious :rofl2:

I had many generous offers made for my 70 BEFORE I put it up for sale. Once the car actually was up for sale however those offers either were retracted or made much smaller.

    Money talks, BS walks.

I bought my 75 4 door to restore, I wanted an older cheap good running car that looked good.

If I am going somewhere out of town I drive my 2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited.

I really like the looks of the 4 door better than I do the chopped off version.

That is why they made both versions.

    Y'all have a great day.

You guys nailed it. I finally got my Mav back after 15 years. Took a while to find a good car up here(2years). Looked at some real junkers that looked ok in pics. Wanted a factory 302 grabber with air rust free. Settled for this one cause the body was rust free and the drivetrain was all finished. Glad I bought it or I might still be looking. Have to be a rude amount of money to buy it.

I said no that i just bought it to restore and as my senoir project for high school. He said "ill give you doulbe what you paid. I told him i bought it for $1500:biglaugh:. He got in his car and left. I was laughing.
