I first saw these English manufactured flush mount latches on Spillman's multi color changing Comet and knew that they were what I wanted for my steel tilt front end on my 69.5 :bananaman

I went with the flush locking version and just got them via Royal Mail and USPS today. What a fine looking latch. I'm pretty sure I'm going to wear them out before they get mounted. I ordered them on Feb 17 from Devon 4x4 in England and with the current exchange rate, delivered to my door, they were 81 bucks. They also come in Carbon Fiber for a few bucks more. (y)

we used those before on some project cars. they are way better then the ugly hood pins!

I used to have chrome hood pins on a Duster "back in the day" but I don't feel the same way today. These latches will mount at the rear of the hood and be used to secure a tilt front end made out of the stock steel fenders and hood so they needed to be a whole lot more secure than regular hood pins. The locking option was a plus too. Since the car will be painted yellow with black trim and stripes these black latches just seemed to fit perfectly.

Cleck out their site - they have a neet animation showing how they work.

I checked a few of the sites from the USA and found them way way over priced. It only cost me 81 dollars from England after currency conversion. 55.00 for the latches and 26 dollars shipping. It should have been a lot cheaper than that because they quoted me "19 pounds" for shipping and when I got the package it had just over "10 pounds" printed as the actual shipping price.

Sites in this country wanted 95.00 without shipping for the ones that locked. :hmmm:

I am pretty sure that they were quoting you 19 British Pounds, which is approx. $27 American.

If they were quoting you weight, it would likely be in kilograms ...

I'm going to call the guys they have listed in Toronto, next week and see what they charge. I'd like some of those for my 74 Grabber.
