BUT...if your mav is only worth $1500, I have a 1987 Hyundai I could sell to you for let's say $5500...

See i think they have alot of sexyness. You see a TON of mustangs and camaros out there. That to me makes the worth of a car go down. The only thing good about a camaro is that if you wreck it or the motor blows up, who cares! theres so many out there so its easy to replace.

Who cares what anyone thinks. I don't drive a Maverick to please anyone but myself. I'd just tell him I'm sorry you feel that way, and move on.

Yeah yeah... old Mustangs are nice. They are everywhere though. Everyone and their mother has an old Mustang. I can't think of the last time I took a double take at a Mustang. Can't even shuffle the Maverick around in the driveway w/o getting looks. Which car has more "value"?

Really good point. You should see the attention it gets up here. They just dont exist on our roads anymore. Cant miss mine being Grabber Blue. Get a lot of nice comments. Usually along the line of nicest one I've seen since I was a kid. I honestly dont think I would get the attention if I had Mustang.

I showed my friend my Maverick before I got the dual muffler kit installed, even then it was pretty loud. Even he like the beefy sound it made when the foot was put to the metal, even though it was only a 302 and we referred to it as the "family muscle car." After I got the mufflers installed, I showed him once more. He freaked out. I can't blame him, those flowmasters made it LOUD. He said that was his only motivation to get a car this summer.
He's not getting a Maverick, though, he's more of a Mopar fan and hopes to get a Demon.

A person likes a certain kind of car because that's what he or she likes. It makes no difference what some else thinks. Some people like Chevys and others like Fords. That's thier choice and if some else doesn't like it, that's tough you-know-what. Here's something Mustang nuts won't tell you. Some people can spend thousands of dollars on a car and still have a piece of junk. We recently finished a ground up complete restoration on a 1970 Mustang converible. The guy so far has spent close to 20 grand on this car and it looks really nice, but the car is hiding a secret: it's a rolling piece of crap. ALL of the replacement body parts are made overseas, don't fit worth a damn and are as thin as tissue paper. Nearly all the restored Mustangs you see are put together with the same poor quaility parts. That's something you can't say about our Mavericks. At least our cars body parts are made from good old American steel. Does that mean our Mavericks ( and Comets) are worth as much as a Mustang? No, because even if the restored Mustangs are built with crap parts there is a certain attitude that comes with being a Mustang owner. As a Maverick owner I have adopted an attitude of my own. If a Mustang owner should feel the need to cut down my car, I can say "Who cares? My car wasn't made in Tiawan."

Personally I wouldn't get offended by someone who can't drive. Too powerful in a garage?... must be absolute hell on an open road. :D

And if I could buy FIVE 5 Comets for the value of ONE Mustang that was "too powerful to drive" I'd also be too scared to drive it on public streets. Five Comets would be just WA-A-AY TOO MUCH FUN.

There is always the positive and the negetive you can't stop it. I have found that some people just do not know much about a Maverick. Mavericks not the main stream in the magazine world. Most people view them a pro-stock strip car or a striped 6 cly grocery getter. Also, I have a 351 4V '69 Mach 1. If I have to park next to a 428CJ Mach 1 on the show field, I might as well stay home!

The true value of a Maverick or Comet is in your eye. If you love your car than who cares what this clown says, his Mustang will never have the value to you as your Maverick has value to you no matter what is done to a Mustang. I like most older Mustangs but i love Mavericks and Comets so this is why i own a "worthless" Comet, I WANT TO BE DIFFERENT.... if i owned another mustang then i would be the same as everyone else at the car shows and that would be worthless to me.
