Today i was looking at engine paints for my 302 block, once i found a brand, i couldnt decide the color! I was so stumped i just left empty handed. SO Ive been thinking about it but im not sure. The car is for sure going to have a white base. so im trying to work off of there but still dont know. Maybe jsut black? any thoughts? Or pics of some colors? I liked a pic of a gold one i saw but not to sure what blue or any others would look like. Thanks!

It's all what style you're going for. You could do black or Ford blue which would be stock colors, or make it green and neon purple, that's the best part of engine building! Just have fun! :yahoo:

    Always do!
Any surface prep? or just take some rubbing alchol and rags to get rid of oil?

I painted mine after getting the block back from the machine shop, they worked their steam-cleaning magic. Then used Hi-Temp Ceramic Engine paint

One thing to consider with black, oil leaks are very hard to pinpoint.

Dawn dish soap and water using a paint brush to scrub it down. Use a wire brush on any rust...then wipe it down with acetone.

red are always a good choice of engine color as long as you have nuetral car color, as it is easily visible for leaks and good to look at when hood are opened up. also, red means do not touch.
