I had a water leak which I fixed when I installed the electric water pump. I had a trans fluid leak which was fixed when I rebuilt the trans. I have an oil leak still. This is what I did.

Took the pan out, put the $29 rubber crush proof gasket on, new filter and put royal purple 5W30 and thought it would fix. I have jacked the car up, got on my creeper, felt around with my hand and looked all over and cant find the source. Before I put the trans in I looked at the rear seal no leak. I did recenlty install a new front seal when I replaced the front cover. Any suggestions? I have put so much time and money into getting this car the way I want and the oil leak is pissing me off. Should I try a Lucas additive? Is the molecular structure of the sythetic oil making it leak?

Whats wet with oil???Its not uncommon for the intake to leak oil at the rear of the engine as well as the front does.

I will run my finger just below the valve covers and check that out tomorrow. Other tips are appreciated?

Go to Napa and get one of the small bottles of oil dye. Pour it in your oil and wait a couple days. Then inspect your engine with a black light :yup:

the synthetic oil will find any leak points faster than regular oil. where the timeing cover meets the block i like to put a bit of silicone there where the oil pan gasket crosses it. do you have any chome, valve covers fuel pump or fuel pump block off plate or oil pan?
you can get a die that you put in the oil then use a black light to see where the leak is coming from.

chrome is really smoothe and is hard to get to seal. you need to sand every surface that is chrome trying to seal to the motor to give it a rough surface to seal to.

It could be that front cover seal. I had the same problem after I installed mine. I still need to pull it and replace it AGAIN. LOL

We have a rule a the dealership. Always order 1 more seal than you need. Doing a front or rear crank seal. order 2. Doing axle seals. order 3. We do it every day for a living and still manage to screw up the odd seal on install. :hmmm:
