a friend offered his GT to me yesterday and ive been kicking around the idea of buying it. it's a '72, bright red car, factory white vinyl top, factory black & white interior, column shift, 302, p/s, a/c car.

it needs work and it's just a rolling chassis but has some extra parts with it. needless to say he DOESNT have an engine, trans, interior (seats but has LDO tracks), scoop for it. i know i should buy it but im just not sure. he's asking $1800 for the rolling chassis. do y'all think it's worth it???

$1800 sounds steep for just a rolling body with no interior. That body better be in really nice shape for that price. What would you do with the car if you bought it? Sounds like it was a sweet car at one time.

sounds like a nice project. But $1800, like every one else, better have little rust

if the body is really good its probably worth somewhere around $1800. sounds like a pretty well optioned car :thumbs2:

yeah, it was a well optioned car. paint is dull and needs minor body work, and has a disc brake swap on the front already. if i got it, i dunno if i would build it for myself or re-sell it. i really dont need it but im gonna go look it over again this weekend and see what happens :)

well needless to say i ended up buying it, not for the above price but i got it never-the-less. he has to finish taking out the engine that was in it then he's going to give me a call to come pick it up. should have it sometime this week, then ill post pics :)

kinda weird me owning two comets, at the same time

anyone have a scan of their Marti resport on a '72 Comet GT? was curious how they listed it as an option (ie. GT package, etc.)
