I am the king of exhaust leaks! I have had 3 exhausts on this car and they have all been leaking. So, just to change things up a bit, I thought I'd tackle my exhaust leak. I got under the car and noted that my eyes were burning the most and I was coughing the most amount of blood up right around where the part I show in the red arrow connects to the rest of the exhaust system. There is some sort of a metal gasket there and it leaks all around it. It's held together with bolts. From the looks of it the metal on the exhaust flanges itslef is pretty bent up. what do I do?

I'm gonna try it myself. Thanks for the parts link and yes, they are headers. The metal on the collectors are a little bent up, is there any kind of liquid gasket I can use on top of this collector gasket to seal it up better?

Exhaust is the worst thing to try and fix without a hoist.

Make sure you get the correct size. Your exhaust is fairly new so it should be an easy job.

If the exhaust is making your eyes burn that bad then you are probably running really rich, like the choke is stuck on or something. I have never had any luck with liquid exhaust gasket sealer. Good gaskets are worth the money spent, and you will want to make sure to get everything lined up well and good and clean before you assemble everything back up again. If your header is bent where it meets the rest of the exhaust, it is probably well worth it to take the thing to an exhaust shop and have it fixed. Otherwise you will be doing this project again. It sounds to me like you are hitting going over speed bumps and causing your exhaust problems that way.
