Then you are ready to DRIVE TO THE CRUISE to break in them gleaming new tires, right? Right? RIGHT!!! Don't worry - a "work in progress" is fine for the cruise - all part of the fun since - if I recall - there were a few "rat rods" there last year. Some of the cars looked fantastic and gleaming. Some of the works-in-progress are better conversation starters since you get the owner all excited about what the next step in the project will be.
My Maverick is still a real work in progress. I might have new paint on it in time for the show. At the very least it will be in all primer lol. From the looks of the picture though, mine would be the only 4 door Maverick there if I am able to make it.
Well Matt, it looks like this years event will be over the Memorial day holiday. You might have plans to have friends and family over for a bar-b-que. If you scrub the event, we will understand. Heck, we'll take plenty of photos, toast you, and generally get sh!t faced in your honor. Once you see/read our description of the event, it'll feel like you were actually there!
I will be in Mexico, hopefully catching unreasonably large fish. (also going to the wife's cousins wedding at some point)
Ugly cars are always welcome. I should know. Even I have been known to show up for a show or two, just not for a long time.
Colby? Don't know if I can make it. Besides my car looks kinda ratty, although it runs well. I might possibly do a drive by just to see the cars. Thanks for the contact.
A-HA! Is that the Maverick I see parked off the Chumstick Highway? You ought to go. It's fun. You don't have to be in the show. My car looks ratty too.
okay. so far we have. -Grabber71 -MercuryCruizers -Yellow75 -ryan's ride -Matterick -stl2700 the people we need to convince to come -Thomas -TUK101 : hoping to be there -Comet155 -tomasito Coop: is your buddies Mean Green Maverick coming???
Hey, I am working on it and I even talked to the wife about making a weekend out of it. I just have a lot of variables right now that I cannot predict yet. Right now the Cruzin to Colby event is on my to do list though.
Wish I could. But, like TUK101, "I just have a lot of variables right now that I cannot predict yet." If baby comes early, maybe I'll sneak out for a while and bring my own pictures. Experience says ours come late, though, and I don't think I'd get away with just not being here. Hmmm. . . maybe some of the more experienced guys here can offer some advice on ways to get babies to come early? I saw a Maverick on Chumstick highway that had a rear spoiler I need. If it wasn't yours then maybe I'll have to stop in one of these days and see if they want to get rid of it. I'll occasionally pass through there on my way from Wenatchee to Lake Wenatchee. Last year's event was pretty fun. I like the cruise format. I hear there's even a barn dance you can take your wife to. Matt got all out of control and they had to throw him out. I, on the other hand, knew my limits and went home. I didn't even have to stop for dinner - Yellow75 brought some bona-fide Tillamook goodies so I gnawed on a brick of very yummy cheese. I wonder if there's a thread around here somewhere with pics . . . (Okay, that's just a nasty rumor; Matt doesn't seem the type to get thrown out of a dance.)
To Centerline. All I know is that after my first baby was born in less than 24 hours we were cruisin on White Rock beach in B.C. My wife and I walked the newborn all down the peer and back and then hung out for a while and cruised home. It was a good time. The wife loved it. You both just both have to be on the same page. She would just have to be up for it. Idea # 2 is if the baby is not born by the cruise, then come down and make the wife walk all over the place. That is what put my wife over the edge and she went into labour. We went for a big long walk the day before she gave birth. Happened to be at White Rock beach!! LOL. That is my take on it. SO Don't let the birth slow you down, just burn rubber right through it. THEN TAKE TWO WEEKS OFF TO ENJOY YOUR NEW BABY! CONGATULATIONS! BY THE WAY!
