I pulled mine of when I rebuilt the front end and painted the car. I realized last night I NEVER PUT IT BACK ON! I only drive the car 1000/yr at best, is this ok to not put it back on? Scott
My '73 didn't have one on it when I bought it and STILL doesn't have one. It doesn't help the handling, but won't cause damage. I plan to put one on (to improve the handling).
yea just be careful at high speeds if you decide to make a sudden turn. Without it the car lifts up a lot more on one side. But plenty of people remove them. Apparently it allows for a better ride when you remove it but kills the cornering.
Car is mostly driven to shows and cruises with the occasional 1/4 trip. So, I think I will leave it off. It also seems to transfer weight a bit better at launch w/o it. Thanks for the input. Scott
i always refer to the body roll of the car with out the sway bar as scrapeing the door handels in turns.
I went ahead and put some overload springs on the rear leafs as temporary help till I can get the new springs and it helped quite a bit. I think some stiffer springs in the front along with a good heavy duty sway bar front and rear would be the real answer.
If you race it...leave it off...Since it doesnt see alot of use...you should be fine but...It will be a much safer car with it.
