The cover on the left is the one used on the 88-93 T-Bird/Cougar, 94-95 Stang and the 96-2001 Explorer/Mountaineer.

yeah, i have to replace it anyway, the frt seal wore a nnice groove in the old one! i think they are the same though, i compared it to one i have for a 89 f 150, the pulley on the cougar balancer is flat against it, not so on the truck balancer. either way, im using all my factory brackets and pulleys until the 331 comes (y)

I have an almost new cover like the one on the left. Came off an EFI 351W Bronco. It does not have the dip stick hole or a boss for the fuel pump. I also think it may be a reverse rotation water pump as it had serpentine belts.
I have done several 302/5.0 swaps and there are several differences like you are finding. Plus the absence of the boss for the Z bar ball.
    It sure can be fun.

I'll sell you the engine out of my '72 Grabber. It needs to be reassembled. Most machinework is done.

Both the oilpan and pickup tube can be bought new at your local parts house. I would at least buy the pickup tube new, that way there'll be no surprises from junk in an old tube.

yeah, i was gonna get a NEW pick up, i have a new oil pump though. i bought one of them chrome pans from summit for my first mav bc of the price. it was trash, none of the friggin bolts lined up right. i could bolt one side down, the other rail would be a 1/4 inch off!! so im not going that route again lol!!!!!

If you had managed to get it bolted in place, you'd have then experienced the oil leaking qualities the chrome pans (and other parts) exibit.:thumbs2:
