New to this car, so no prior history. It's a 70 grabber, 200 six with a c4. runs super good, shifts like butter. however it's got a horrible vibration when I rev it in park/neutral. I can feel it while driving too. vibration gets worse the more I spin the motor. I did just a quick glance at the motor mounts and they didn't seem torn. I revved the gas hard and the motor didn't jump any more than usual. what are the normal sources for vibration with the car in neutral?? could it be the torque converter?? I was watching the engine and trans while the vibration was occuring, but from the outside, nothing at all appears to be shaking.
It is difficult to tell. I'm not used to these little motors. I can't see the balancer. it's not like on my 302 where you have the balancer, then the pulley's bolted to the balancer. Here it looks like the pulleys are bolted straight to the front of the motor. On these engines, are the pulley's integrated with the balancer?
Jeremy You may have a compression embalance with that #5 cylinder pumping oil . That may give you a freewheel ( no load on engine) viberation . Have you completed a compression test? I would not be worried about it just drive the he$$ out of it till you get a 5.0 to stick in it . Jay
