well guys, I am sorry to say that my maverick project is now gone to other hands. due to my being in school and living in an apartment, it wasn"t reasonable to try and build a car right now. After I get out of school and get working again I will find another and start again.
I ended up trading a man in Georgia for this 65 chevy pick up that will serve as my daily driver while i am schooling.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I will continue to be on the board and help out wherever i can. Some may say i"m crazy for this trade but it is my best interest for now. The wife already has 3 jobs, I can"t ask her to get another to help me build my car.
REALITY SUCKS oh well, what can you do.

Not a Chevy guy at all...but looks like it is in pretty good shape. Doubt it will get very good gas mileage as that 6 cylinder is probably geared pretty low to haul with but should get you around.
Good luck with it and I hope you get back into the Ford family soon. lol

I like it. We had a 70 six banger 3 on the tree when I was a teenager. Daily driver eh?? That truck up here would turn a lot of heads and bring a pretty good price.

    Jason,

    Sorry to hear this....
Now hurry up and get done with school, OK?

In retrospect, my time in college flew by (both times) ... it is a full schedule just studying and trying to have just a little personal time ... forget about any time for hobby interests ...

Congratulations on getting a nice truck out of the deal anyway. Sorry you had to give up on the Maverick. You can always get another in the future. You gotta do what's best for you and the family.:)

Wow, that kinda sucks. Considering everything you've had to deal with, your 4 dr burning up, the title issues and all. Hope school goes well for you.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma, Jason... got to make decisions to help the family. Rocky was layed off in August... we're dealing, but might have to face that decision down the line. Where did your Mav go? Any one of us here able to save it?

the mav went to a guy in georgia. he "says" he is planning on finishing the build. This economy is so bad right now. I am still waiting on my stimulus check from our exalted leader. he"s paid almost everyone else but forgets those of us who really need it. thanks for the support. the truck is nice but in no way perfect. it is a decent daily driver or small show quality. some small rust issues i will have to contend with later. it"s getting the front and rear seals replaced as we speak. was leaking badly.

Hate to break it to you but were not getting stimulus checks this year. That stimulus comes in the form of reduced federal taxes off our pay checks every week of about $6-$10! Only people I think that are getting something back are people on SS. It sucks but oh well.

Sorry to hear about the Mav. At least it looks like you got a nice truck out of the deal! You made the right choice. Cars come and go and they are no reason to put your family in a bind and cause more undue stress. (y)
