I'm thinking of putting something together -- 6 cyl front springs w/drag shock in the front and a cheappie shock out in the rear w/caltracs and stock leafs. I have a mini spooled 8" w/4.62's sitting in the garage, so 28's would heave to go in the rear.

What size wheels and backspacing are you running in the rear? No mini tubs either, wheels must tuck underneath the sheetmetal. Thanks

I am/will running a Mustang II RandC clip
A custom 3 link with quick change 9 inch mini tubbed....
    So I can't really help you...lol

I would recommend a set of cal trac 2 piece leafs for the rear and cal trac traction bars. seems to be a sweet set up and not to bad on price. Tire wise you can get 31 x 10.5s but they do stick a tad bit out......

I ran 23560r15 mt drag radiles and did fairly well 1.8 60 ft times with South Side traction bars and frt suspension that was in the weeds(to low) I think if I would have put some drag shocks on the frt and got a set of springs that were not cut 2 coils it would have had 1.6 or so 60 ft times...

Good luck with the car and post up progress pics

I'll definitly look into the calvert leafs, i think MT has some 255/60r15 also... quick pic of the car of how i got it... paint was shot and i was able to bring it back some, i still have to polish and wax the roof, trunk and other side of the car. Ohh yea also looking for some rims and will probably go with some weld drag stars or the greg weld drag stars

I have caltracs on 4-leaf heavy duty springs out back. For street, I run 15X8 Cragars with 255/60 with some rubbing on the fender before the caltracs (caltracs limit downward travel so they do not hit anymore).

For the track, I run 26X10.5 ET Streets with plenty of room. They appear similar to the 245/60r15s I had on the rims prior to the 255s.

I run heavy springs up front cut low for a decent rake. My car has very little bounce when I drive it.

You pretty much just described my setup except I'm running a 9" with 4.30 gears. I also have 275/60R 15 M/T drag radials and they tuck in perfectly. Have ran a best of 6.97, 1.59, 91mph.

I have not been to the track since I put in the new roller 308, cal tracs, subframes, and exhaust. Still running on the stock tranny and want to have it rebuilt before i blow it up. Finances are tight right now, so car is sitting for a little while...

Not without some pretty serious spacers.
You need about 4 to 4.5 b/s, otherwise you'll be against the leaf springs.
