I just finish removing all of the undercoating from the front aprons. I scuffed out the panels, washed em down with mineral spirits and painted them with a rattle can of Crest Chip Coat paint. It came out pretty nice and it no longer has that ugly undercoated look. I will be doing the back wheel wells and then on to the floor and frames after its back from the paint shop. This paint is designed just for this. It has a nice light texture to it.

We use 3m products. They have some nice light gravel guard sprays. Gives a thin, even bumpy texture. You can paint over it if you like. Our all season cars up here dont last long with any of those heavy undercoats. They just trap moisture against the surface. Only thing that saves our cars is an oil type spray. Its messy but it creeps into all the seams and protects it.
My Mav got a good spray in the panels. It wont see winter ever again but It good insurance since my panels were all dipped. What you choose to protect your car really depends on what you have done to it and what weather it will see.

I used Herculiner on my truck. Hell... Half my truck is Herculiner now (bottom third, underside, bed and rails). Tough as nails when the surface is prepped right.

Remember, what ever you use, it's all in the prep. Clean and scuff well.
