With a heavy heart:cry: have to tell all of you I have sold my Comet, I owned that car for 10 years.... longer than any car in my life. I am encouraged though the person who bought it is a 22 year old girl.:thumbs2: she along with ther boyfriend plan to restore her. It started as email responses from my ad in craigs list. her words at various times "this is exactly the kind of car I have been looking for" walked up my driveway and before they even started her up " I know for a fact I want this car". They brought a buddy of her boyfriend with them who restored a 72 Impala. They looked her over and said "this is a real solid project car". Her boyfriend is a mechainc in the USAF:thumbs2:, They were very enthusiatic and were not interested in the v-8 coversion stuff I bought from Jegs they plan to make her original! Anyway, it didn't just go to someone dirt poor who needed a beater to get from A to B. I asked my wife last night "I wonder when it will hit me that she's gone? :cry:Today it hit me first when I got an email update from this board and then when I got one from Car domain. I had to go in and update to let people know she's sold... talk about sellers remorse. But anyway it is for the best I just didn't have the time nor cash flow to restore her before she got worse. I told her new owner about all of you guys and bragged all of you up. She promised to email pictures to me as they get stuff done, I hope she comes through. If it's ok with all of you I'll still come back here and see how you all are doing with your cars. and get a little glisten:cry: in my eyes seeing whaat might have been for my 1974 Comet...... I hope to see her on here getting restored........ Here's my replacement hobby My Spirit in my yard 041809.jpg , nice but never the same

You've gotta do what's necessary. Sorry to hear you had to sell it, but you can always find another someday. Keep hanging out here!!

I still regret selling my Comet at times.

I sold my foxbody a few weeks ago, and haven't missed it a bit.

A bike replaced my foxbody also.

I'm thinking When My Focus is paid off I'll buy a restored Comet, I've been trying to think of a good personalized plate for the bike. Maybe Halebopp, or simply Comet... as reminder, I have.. hmmm had 6inline on the Comet, I'm keeping those plates if they'll let me maybe I'll call the front one " lost" if they require I turn them in...
I'll still hang out here, you guys are like extended family, I appreciate all the advise and comradaree over the years!

Thanks guys your comments are appreciated, it part of why I love this forum so much. On some forums people are down right nasty or could care less, you guys are a great group, I'll hang out here still, and see how you guys are progressing.I hope the new owner takes time to join up here.. watch for a young girl newby with a 74 Comet 2 door, maybe she and her boyfriend will be added to the Maverick Comet family!
