Anybody know a source with a reasonable price on original style wiper blades? The arms are a satin metal finish, but all the new blades I can find are black. I did see some blades in good shape on a Mustang II in the salvage yard recently, and that might be an option if I can find the refills for them. Anybody still sell those?

Funny you posted this. I have my wiper arms right beside me here at work. Trying to find some decent looking blades.

I did that, and they work fine, but it's bugged me that the arm is satin silver and the blade is black. I could either get black arms or paint them, but I'd like to have satin silver ones since you don't see that anymore and they're what came on the car. (I'm FAR from a purist, I just think they look good.)

A few weeks ago I bid on a set of wiper arms on ebay that didn't have a picture in the auction. I won them for 99 cents and when they arrived they had the original blades still on them. I am just going to buy a new set of blades and take the refill out of the blades to put in my originals. I do not see refills in the stores anymore. Do they even sell refills?? Either way I am going to make some triple edge refills fit in the original blades. I have to agree that they do not look right without silver blades on them.

I guess worst case someone could buy blades that are shaped right and just paint them with the Argent color paint.

I haven't seen refills anywhere for a while now. I've asked our local parts stores, but all I get is NO. Of course, if they don't have them then Walmart doesn't. Maybe their profit margin is higher for the whole blade and not just the refill. :hmmm:

Wiper blades are made from rubber and they are all black. Wiper frames and wiper arms come in different colors. I replaced my wiper blades last month...cost me $4.49 at Advance Auto Parts.

Well headed over to carquest today. He couldnt get blades in a metal finish. Picked up 2 direct fit blades and some Dull Aluminum paint. Took the blades apart, scuffed with 3m pad, cleaned with silicone remover and gave them a light coat of paint. Turned out really good. The paint is very close to the arms color. Just needs to dull up a bit more. Going to give them a very light scuff with a grey 3m pad and think that should do it.

In Canada here, I bought the "tridon" style black metal blades from Canadian Tire (which are better with the 3 arms/4 contact areas for the blades than the original which has only two contact points and tends to lift up in the middle).

I dismantled them (carefully removing the steel inserts) and painted them with Aluminum/silver touch up paint from my girlfriends Honda - very close match. Now I just buy refills and changed the rubber.

2 Front, one rear? My wife's van is the same way. :16suspect
I would be happy buying them in pairs if I could FIND them! :( If there are extras, I can always set them back for the next change. Around here, I can't get wipers to last more than about 6 months anyway.
