my friend wants to buy my maverick and i told her 8 thousand expecting her to laugh but to my surprise she is actually interested to make a long story short... 7000 is what i told her but she cant really aford it but she can afford around 5000 found this nice duster on craigslist for 5500 and i really want it!!! the only drawback is that its a 6 cylinder sorry guys .... just keeping you posted http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/1110638459.html
Just remember...If you get that duster...A V8 swaqp will require more work than a V8 swap in a mav.If you go to look at it...Check the rear leaf spring shackles(they like to go through the trunk when rotten)Also check the torsion bar mount under the car on both sides.(its a bit forward of the center of the floor pan) they like to rot off the pan at the rockers.Note it is also where the trans mount is located.Keep the Mav...
if u can get $5k out of ur car then im doing something wrong... at oen time i had mine priced for $5500 with no interest, so if u can sell it for that i say go for it! as for the duster, that's too much. i can buy one for about $400... needs work but hey, it's a dodge
i used to have a 71 Duster with the slant six wish i wouldve never gotten rid of it. Looks really clean, drop a 340 or 360 in it and flip it to buy more mavericks lol
Don't do it man, keep the Maverick.... why? ............. Cause it's way cooler!!!!!! If you get rid of your Maverick, soon you will find yourself looking at old magazines cause you miss your 'ol Maverick.
Well I'll say this I'll take a ford over mopar anyday, though the slant six is rock solid mopar can't build a tranny to save their company... literally!
interesting point guys...... but is the mav really worth more than a duster???? matterick... mines a 302
WEll look into what a duster --- with a slant six goes for.. I can't imagine that a 6 cyl Duster has more value than a v-8 mav or even a 6 cyl mav... A duster with a 318 is probably worth more in same condition than a v-8 mav , just my opinion.
A guy down the road from me is selling he award winning 75 Roadrunner with # matching 340 that is cherry for $5500. So don't go paying that kind of money for an overpriced 6cyl duster. Sure they look cool, but unless it has been kept indoors and the engine has been worked, it just doesn't seem worth it to me. I do have to say though, that the slant 6 225 Dodge engine is rock solid and they do have potential.
oh boy... the heck with the duster.... going to check out this sweet FORD this sunday!!!!! WOOOOO!!! http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/1135619941.html only drawback is that its a gas guzler
