Magnum 500 rims/new twist.Pics/Update W more pics Well, I didnt powder coat them(was going to)but I did paint em with a different color from the standard Argent silver (I gotta be different)All thats left is to put the grabber blue pinstripe on em.Then I have to do the other two rims.Once done these will go on the Sprint.I got these from Dave...(mean_maverick)
Wow those are really awesome i remember when he was selling them they were so rough! Now they look AWESOME!!
Looks good, I have a set that are a little rusty and was thinking about doing something like that, now I will for sure but might go with body color on the spokes
I thought about body color in the coves(black area) but white or grabber blue would have just been too loud with the charcoal grey.I am going to put a pinstripe on the rim in grabber blue.(it will be on the same face as the valve stem hole).Should look pretty good.Body color spokes would be cool too,Especially if you run trim rings.I am not going to run trim rings.(dont want to scratch the paint...LOL...)
Thanks...got about 8 hrs of prep in em to put paint on em.Gotta do the other two next.8 more hrs of prep.
They will look great on the Sprint! I'm still planning on using the stock caps and rings but might do something else later. Good choice!
Ok show off now lets see ya hand paint that pin stripe. Then I'll be impressed. Seriously the wheels look great. Factory isnt always best. I prefer your color.
Those look great! I remember seeing the pics when they were for sale. Amazing they are the same wheels!
LOL...Darren, I have to buy a new medium line striping sword to do the job.If I can find a video camera Ill shoot some vid for ya of the process
I watched a guy pinstripe a set of wheels several years ago(early 80's). What he did was put the rim on a car that he had the back wheels off the ground, cranked it up and put it in gear. With the wheel slowly turning, he then just touched it with the pinstripe brush to make perfect circle pinstripe! He did all 4 wheels in about 15 minutes with most of the time spent taking off each one and putting on the other with 2 lugnuts! I'm sure that this is not the safest way to do it but I have to admit that it worked out pretty well!! I wonder if it could be done with a tire shops balancing machine at a slow rpm?? Scott
