I believe that the brake light switch has an adjustment on it. Its up inside by where the brake pedal connects. It should screw in or out to adjust.

I messed around with this all week (made me crazy), and I ende up removing the switch, and then removing the plastic washer that sits inside the brake pedal rod, you have to remove in this order: Connector to the switch first of all, 1 hairpin, 2 (white) plastic washer, 3 remove brake light switch, 4 plastic washer/plug inside the brake pedal rod end, this made my switch work again...

Sorry for my bad english, hope someone can fill in the blanks and/or do some spellchecking...

There was no adjuster on mine, but it´s the old NOS one so probably there is better switches around...

    Good luck!!!

    Robert.

try putting a shim inbetween the flat plate and the pushrod for the master...when you push your brakes, the switch tilts, and the pushrod pushes one side back and it makes contact with another piece of metal...the contact is what causes the lights to light up...the shim will make it contact earlier...i would atleast try this before you take it all apart...it took me a while to get it all back together...if you do...loosen your master from the firewall a bit...the extra movement helps alot with removal and reassembely...hope this helps (y)
