Dam [IMG],got the car mostly done and when i took her for a test drive i figured out my seats are too low so i gotta make new mounts, for now im puttin the old ones back in,and then drive her alittle and she starts get'n really hot [IMG] so i pull over and turn her off and let the fan run, well i went to check the oil and water levels to open the hood to the entire passenger side the the bay covered in oil [IMG],looks like i blew out the valve cover gasket so now i gotta bunch of **** to do and its pissing me off.O and on top of that i blew out the rear main seal so i gotta fix that too, luckily its a 2 peice though...

Sounds like the umbrella seals are coming off the valves. You may want to change them and clean it all out of the pan to keep from twisting the pump drive off.

yup ... sounds like valve seals. They dry out with age and crumble.

I don't know if they changed the oil pump pickup design by 82, but my 74 351W had a pickup that would actually let small stuff into the pump ... it did it twice, breaking the pump drive both times.

I switched to a Melling pump and pickup ... stock pressure and volume ... the pickup has a full screen on it. :thumbs2:
