The front suspension in my 70 Maverick is completely shot and im gonna be replacing it soon and just wanted to get you feed back on what shocks i should use and if i should replace anything else. I dont need anything fancy just someting that will fit and work well. Thanks for the advice.
kyb shocks are affordable and work well. dont put polyurithane bushings on the strut rods (the rods that go towards the front of the car). they are too stiff and will cause them to brake. there is a conversion avaible for the upper controle arm bushings that convert them to conventional rubber bushings avaiable from moog. this is a really good thing to do. the rest is streight forward and enjoy your maverick.
Replace the upper a-arm bushings and balljoints. Replace the lower a-arm as well as a unit. strutrod bushings are available from mustangs-unlimited as 65 mustang units. Tie rod ends too. Sounds like alot but simple if you reaseach or talk with old dudes,Lol.
I need new tie rod ends and was looking on summit and wanted to know what ones I needed. (1975-351w-c4)... http://www.summitracing.com/search/...Year/1975/Part-Type/Tie-Rod-Ends/?keyword=tie rod ends
Put KYB on mine and they drive very well for the money. I use MOOG suspension parts whenever possible. You get what you pay for. Dont cheap out it wont last long and you'll be doing it all over again next year. Good luck and dont rush it.
