My Maverick is a 73 but the dash is a 72 apparently. The production date is 08/72 Is this normal or was the dash bottom changed?

Some 73's have the "Package Tray" and some have the "Glove Box", 73 was kinda a transition year, nothing special, just different.

I was thinking a glovebox would be nice, I don't really care for the Package Tray.

I have one of each, either one is pretty much useless, for anything other than paperwork.

The (junk-yard) rear end say's 77 Granada, is that considered an 8.8?

Do you have a bolt on rear cover or does the center section come out the front?

If it's out of a '77 Granada with the bolt on rear cover, it's not an 8.8. It's probably the 8.7 from the late 70's, which was the forerunner to (and closely resembles) the 8.8, but they are weak junk.

Thanks to everyone for all the help! I don't know what I'm going with the Maverick yet, I'm pretty deep into a 55 Chevy project. For now it's going to sit in the backyard for a while, but I'm learning a lot from this web site. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3065942

Nice looking 55. I'd of liked to have seen it when I was in LHC a few weeks ago.:)

That is a clean car. It's probably getting damn near impossible to find original rust free cars like that.

There's still some out here in the desert, but they're getting hard to find. The 55 is killing me cash-wise, I wish I wouldn't have gotten so involved. I'd almost rather sell it and do the Maverick, but I'm to deep and I would take a big loss.
