more info will get you more detailed responces.
off the top of my head, find a 347 crate motor that makes around 400 hp. get stall conveter from a good conveter company like contenital, or hughes. they will listen to your info and build a conveter that will work best for your car. get the c4 trans rebuilt to take the power level of the motor you get. regear the diff with gears between 3.55 to 4.10. depending on what type of use you plan on. also install a track lock while your haveing gears put in. get some drag radials for the rear. put some subframe connectors on it.

:Welcome:the big parts are v8 frame mounts, belly bar, dual exhaust tranny cross member. a 347 is just a 302 stroked out so it will drop in just fine with all the stuff i listed (warning headers dont fit well with column shift cars and also power steering needs to modified to clear the long tubes.) btw what kind of mustang is:hmmm:? it if its fox body there heaver than a maverick witch is a bounus on your end of the battle!:thumbs2:

    heres a v8 swap link: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=4581

You need to go back to post #3 and decide if you're ready to spend the money needed to do all of this. You're looking at a minimum of $6000...if you're lucky. All the other stuff will be minor things we can help you get together. The money part is up to you. :)

The engine isn't the only cost here. You also have to find all the parts for a swap (wiring and everything 73rustymav mentioned) buy a C-4 and build it to suit the motor, stall converter, driveshaft, rear end (gears, limited slip/locker), tires and suspension to keep it hooked up...

as everything were saying is take your time,do things correctly, and make sure all parts will work together and not ageist each other. i beleave the best engine would be eather a 331 or 347, less mods needed to drop in the car.

ONLY $5765 and ONLY 350 hp??I believe I'd shop around, find a good builder.A good friend had a 347 built, dyno'd at 515 hp for around $6100.Another friend built a 306 that put out about 400 hp(no dyno on this one)that could be duplicated for about $4000.Both of these engines are pump gas friendly and fit easily since they're both 302 based engines.
