Awesome picture's... I think the engine swap summit should be held in different states. So for 2010 I vote for Florida :)

I think so, this is a on going thing. It's not only about the engine swap, it's about people , laughs and the Bar B Qing and the beer. It was a laugh. Oh and thanks to Derek for the phone tech support and all the info regarding the tranny mount.

Oh my is this little annual Maverick engine swap summit about to take off. Remember everyone you can start this at anytime as a great excuse to just get together with your fellow Maverick and Comet fans. Do it anywhere at any time, help out your fellow Maverick/ Comet pals and it does not have to be only a engine swap. Change a tranny, wheels, strip down a parts cars, hell just get together for a BAR-B-Q and some Maverick burgers. It's all good to hang with the boys (and gals) in Maverick / Comet land.:tiphat:

The Engine swap was an old 302 and a 4 speed tremco to a 5.0 roller motor and trans was a Borg Warner 5 speed with matching flywheel and all the stuff. The biggest modification was tranny mount, It had to be lowered about 1 inch, which at this time I'm working on. The hole in the floor for the shifter had to be cut about 2" back from the existing hole in order to get the tranny in. The thing now, is to make up the clutch cable. Thanks to Derek 5.0 he sent me some pics of his Comet with the clutch cable. Which should work just fine.

I believe that Mustang had a 428 4 speed in it and is now a 390 4 speed.
Gord's Mustang is a very cherry ride. And being a green one , Almost a Bullet. Way too cool.

Aaaaaa yes Gord's '67 Mustang, damn i had one as my first car a 1967 Mustang coupe which was green also. Man did i love that car, every time i see Gord's Mustang it brings me back to 1983. Very nice indeed and i can tell you that Gord's Mustang is 100% nicer then my Mustang ever was. swap_4_the_boys_show_up_rear_shot_original.jpg SWEET!
