Subscribing. Im interested in whether this can be done without changing to a Mustang II or other suspension. Has anyone used a packaged Mustang R&P conversion setup or had success with a home brewed setup?
The Hahn's from Somerset, KY have the Total Control Products Falcon kit installed on their Mavericks with stock suspension. They said it required minor modifications.
I did an RRS conversion over the winter. I don't know how well I like it yet since I am still working on completing my 351 installation.
i friend of mine fab'd his own with a sunfire rack.i really need a pic of it,would like to do that to mine
The guy at TCP told me there are several Mavericks running their Mustang R&Ps, the turning radius isn't as tight as stock because you have to narrow the tube to fit within the Mav rails.
i've got a 05 cobalt manual rack and pinion laying around i was thinking of trying to put it on some time. looks like it would work if i can find a steering shaft that will go around my headers. any ideas?
I have a cavalier rack in my 55 fairlane and in my 65 fairlane, works great and is nice and tight. Was going to do the mav also, but just might leave it stock, havent decided yet. It isnt really hard, just a little time consuming. I found the u-joints for the colum/shaft on e-bay for a good price. The only drawback to this set-up is the turning radius is a little bigger.
