what all do i have to do to swap a mustang 5.0 & T5 trans into my maverick i am going to pull them out of a mustang and i am going to use a cable clutch
I just did the engine swap to 5.0 roller and 5 speed .I had to move the tranny mount back and lower. I will be fabbing up a bracket for the clutch cable.
been running my 5.0/T5 for over a yr now with no problems. fabbed up my own tranny mount, modified the stock pedal and did a custom cable lemme know if i can help
I lost the links I had to messages on this swap - which years are best for the swap? Was is UP TO 1987 Mustang 5.0's and T5's? Or after? Or does it matter if you're fabbing linkages and pedals?
I whould like to see how you fabed the clutch pedal to work & what master cylinder and slave cylinder you used pic's whould be great
You can use a T5 out of a Mustang up to '95, or '96 (if the 96 is a 3.8). I'm in the process of doing the swap right now. Modifying the clutch was not too difficult at all. I ordered a cable and quadrant from Mustang Steve. You simply weld the quadrant to the top of the clutch pedal and bolt it back in. Aside from that you just have to hammer a light recess into the cowl floor, and drill a 1/2" hole in the firewall for the cable. I honestly think it was easier then trying to get the stock mechanical linkage back in through the headers. Here's a pic of the clutch after modification. I'm not a welder by any means, so it's not the cleanest job, but it works.
