I have been stripping down the front fenders on my 72 and I had to pry the emblems off like we all should, (no i did not hurt them) but as I have been noticing the later model cars dont have the emblem on the fender. My brothers 74 4 door has it on the roof pillar and I have been noticing that some of the later cars, both two and four door have it in the same spot. Well anyways my question is what year did they do the change, I guess it is more for my curiosity than anything.
I think 1975 and it was 1977 there were no emblems as Ford was just using up all their parts for the last year. If i'm wrong i'm sure the brain trust here will correct me.
My 72 is on the front fender just above the "grabber" in the Grabber stripe and on my 73 it is on the roof pillar behind the pop-out window
i just got to looking and you and Craig are half way right..... 2dr's are on the pillar but 4dr's have fender emblems. i had my 4dr in mind when i posted
All 73s Ive seen in the yards were on pillar and one on the trunk. Unless someones been going around with some glue.
Actually.....I look at it as you are half-way wrong!!! This 1973 4-door I had has the emblem on the pillar: This 1973 I had has the emblem on the fender: Kind of funny.....they were both LDO cars with a full vinyl top. ?????
Must be that guy with the glue! Leave it to Ford. I wonder where the cars came from originally? Imagine that and model / options make the differences?? Learn something new every day! Thanks for the pics
