My '77 Maverick has no emblems at all other than the FORD letters on the hood and trunk. There is a MAVERICK emblem in the grill. I can't remember if it was always there or if I put it there.
MY '76 had emblems on the pillar, I took them off before it was painted and hadn't put them back. Maybe this applies only to foreign Mavericks.
I would like to see that, anyway could you post a picture? My 1977 four door didn't have even one tag on it, i assumed that someone had removed them on me before i got the car. When i mentioned it to someone a few years later i was told that the 1977's had no tags as they were the last year and all Ford was doing was using up all it's spare parts for the final year which did not include the name tags.
I thought somebody would've at least caught it when they quoted it. And to think they let you drive with those eyes.
Honestly i thought you ment it was a custom thing. On my older 'n' dirt computer i can't read that white lettering unless i mess with the brightness, now that i can see it....... oh i get it.
Not really...Blue cars got them on the C-pillar and white cars got them on the fender. Or maybe one car was made on Tuesday and the other car was made of Wednesday. Or the difference could be before lunch and after lunch.
Back in the early 70's I was at a junkyard getting a glove box hinge off a green 60 Falcon. There was an old man who looked like a wine-o was watching me. He yield out to me and said, "Hey Boy...You can't take parts off that green Ford and put them on that blue Ford...They wont fit." I thought to myself that guy was drunk. I got home and guess what...the old man was right.
