I'm just thankful that up here in Canada our sad little super cheap government is so cheap that they will offer you a lame $200 or $300 dollars for your old car, plus it has too still be on the road insured and being driven daily. As a result no one is taking these cheap morons up on their "offer" to scrap their old cars. Long live our cheap, lame government.

Doesn't the car have to be NEWER than 84 to qualify as a clunker?

yes and it has to be driveable, licensed and insured for 1 year prior to trying to trade it in by the owner. This topic was already brought up sad to say there are allot of loopholes in it that kill most tradeins.

When I think back concerning how many Mavericks were in the local 'Pick Apart' it makes me sad. So many thousands were crushed for minor damage, or bad engines.

Worst part--if they already have it ready to crush, no matter how much money you offer, they won't bring it back to the yard. Been there. What a terrible waste. I have seen driveable Mavericks just wasted or parted out. Now, many have realized that those cars were great and economical, but it is too late for hundreds of thousands.

They removed this one from the crush pile for scrap cost without hesitation.
