    Hello everyone!

I have a question about glasspack and the normal mufflers

I had the Glasspack on my comet and I change my old carburetor to
a 4-barrel (more power and sound)
so I do not want to hear very loud! just a fun sound .

should i keep the glasspack or buy a normal muffler
and if I put the exhaust systems i will need 2 mufflers ??????

    thanks guys

Your carb should not change the sound of your car. If you want a performance sound get a flowmaster type muffler, glasspack is louder.

(Flowmaster and Glasspack) can be used both at the same time on exhaust systems

or must be the same muffler

2 glasspack or 2 Flowmaster for exhaust systems ??????

lol what? if you have dual exhaust you will need two mufflers. a single chamber flowmaster are the best and even louder than glasspacks. But theyre not for the street. What i do is get 40 series at the junkyard for 10 bucks each they sound great on any motor.

Open headers with turn downs bolted directly to the collectors.
When you get pulled over tell the police that it is so people can hear and see you coming and your safety is more important than being polite to everyone around you. That is the same excuse/reasoning/justification that those obnoxious Harleys and their keepers use. If it is okay for a motorcycle to be 140db then it should be okay for your car too.
The next step is a full chromed paintjob and blinding, flashing headlights that don't cut off.

lika, if you are going withy a single exhaust, go with a flowmaster 40 series ,if you want better proformance from your 302 go with dual (2 exhaust) flowmaster 40 series mufflers 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch pipe and you will be very happy with the sound and the proformance . Jimmy

Personally I don't like the sound of Flowmasters. They make the engine sound like it's straining just to pull itself on flat ground. Cheap $20 Turbos on an unbalanced exhaust system have a more throaty sound and you don't get that annoying drone like you do with Flowmasters.

    flows or glass packs

id rec. flows. i install them all the time at work. we install one chambers all the time also . they are not any louder than glass pack/cherry bomb muffler. they really sound great on big block cars and turn downs. i plan on putting 3 inch with baby flows on my 73 mav this next week.

i have headers to an x pipe to large cherry bomb glass packs. I personally can't stand the sound anymore. doesn't sound "throaty" at all. just sounds like a loud rumble. not my taste so i'm gonna be looking around for some flows.
