I was wondering would a big block carb from a ford 460 fit on a 302 the carb in question is a D2VF-AA
Should be OK ... square flange carb, probably a Holley. "D2..." likely means 1972 and on if these codes run like standard Ford parts. I am running a later-70s carb off of a 460 motor from a truck on mine. 600 cfm, very much like a standard 1850 Holley, except for a couple of small diffences.
yeah, square flange is very common. I put my carb on a mid-80s Mustang GT manifold, that I used on the original 302 in the Comet, and had to get a spacer to block off a weird heat riser slot next to the carb, but other than that it was straightforward.
