Hi all! I purchased my 1973 Ford Maverick back in 2000 when I was 16. Sadly though, I knew nothing about cars (I’m still a newb…), and was constantly having it in the shop for one thing or another. After two years of trying to keep it running ($$$)… I finally gave up, and the Maverick was parked outside my parent’s house until recently . A few months ago I decided it was time to either sell it, or actually learn how to work on it. I opted to take a stab at working on it. I started with changing filters, fluids, the solenoid, and battery. I now have it running; it’s not running great but I drove it 30 miles from my parent’s house to my house…so not too bad after sitting for seven years . I still have lots of work to do, but have already fallen back in love with my Maverick. There's a reason why “I had to have that car”...so many years ago! Many thanks to this website, and all the members for their friendly conversations; you all have already helped me get things rolling on the revival of my Maverick. I'll make sure to keep you all posted on my progress, ask questions, and provide helpful information as I come across it. I plan on documenting all the fixes, tips and tricks, etc. so that maybe I can return the favor. Wish me luck…everything I work on will be new to me, but that’s the fun of it! Talk to you all soon!
