Ok so its not a comet, but its still a Ford motor 351w. This was a car I built from the ground up a few years back. Ran 9.90's in the quarter mile, which was exactly how I ran it on the street through full exhaust and on 93 octane. I sold this car and was looking for a new project which is why I got into Comets. After 9.90's I had no need to speed which is why Im doing a factory resto now.

Here is a link to me racing a motorcycle

What kind of suspension you have in there? its gotta be tough as hell getting traction in that little thing with the light rear end and all. pretty impressive

I bet having the radiator in the back helped a little with weight distribution... That's pretty killer.

The suspension I made all from scratch. Its a 4 link rear suspension which I hand crafted. I did months and months of research on how to setup a 4 link suspension and it really paid off, the car hooked up great even on the street.

What I did for the front suspension was milled down the 4x4 samurai spindles so that a crown victoria hubs would slide on (giving me the 5 lug pattern). I then bought trailer axles which I also milled down these slid into the center of the 4x4 cavity and were welded in front the back side so that I had threads to keep the vic hubs from coming off. I then made brackets so that I could mount cadillac eldorado calipers to it.

The motor was stroked to 408CI with a steel crank and carrillo rods, Pistons I had custom made for nitrous. I did massive work on the heads, which had 2.08 intake vales.

It is kinda funny how everyone (including me) thinks this bastard combo is awesome, but the Maverick with the Supra engine is blasphemous...

Maybe because it's based on a v-8? I think a sbf makes anything cool. Not to start up the big debate again, I used to look down on fwd Japanese cars until I drove one of the coolest awd japanese cars around, and then bought it!

To each his own, but anything done right gets a big :thumbs2:

I'll bet that Buzuki is a total chick magnet too, as shown in the photo :mischeif:
