$6000 might not be too far off. I mean....how rare is a 1973 GT? I know it is a rare occasions when I see a GT.....let alone a 1973. It is a nice color, nice interior....so time will tell.

Is it original paint? If that's all the rust it has, that's no big deal. Up here cars like that didn't exist in 1988 because they were already rotten beyond repair. Nice car, maybe a little high, but still a nice car.
Mavericks and Comets will never increase in value, with everyone low balling every car that pops up. Try and find another like it...

Hey Dave, I agree that I have seen much worse, and that the interior looks outstanding. Good torq boxes, etc. and I am basing it on what showed on mine and how bad it was when I got into it. My halo top showed no bubbles but after removing the top there was a LOT of pitting and the roof on this one has at least one spot that is nearly through if not through. also by the time you weld in a bottom QP, replace door or weld on new metal at the bottom of that one and the dogleg of the fender there's no way you are going to keep the rest of the original paint. If I'm right about the cowl, that's a major fix. and I'm not sure with the other items that that makes this a 6,000 car before you start any of that. my opinion only and I post the info and photos here so if anyone else is interested they can contact the seller and decide for themselves. Does it really matter if the QP has bubbles like shown or a 2" hole? it's gonna have to be welded up/replaced anyway, same with door and fender.

I think this car is a great starting point and better then most and I guess what it's worth is up to you. For me, no comet/maverick with a with a needed cowl repair is worth 6,000 at least not this week. : )
It may be worth it to others so I am just reporting what I see. I hope someone does get it and make the repairs.

I am going on record by say this car is worth every penny .It is funny if this was a 68 mustang fastback it would be sold the first day, and it is more rare then one of those.
I agree with Dave if we keep bashing them how are they going to go up in value .what if some new member was wanting to buy it .And all he keeps reading is use bashing it he would RUN from it ,Ask your self this if it was your car what would you want for it ??

I totally agree but that also is what makes them so easy to build and multiply if every maverick was $10,000 most people would only be able to afford one if even that. I know some people have a maverick cuz they cant afford a mustang

I think it's not really worth that much but close to it. Up here in Canada trust me when i say most of us have saved Mavericks and Comet in far worse shape than that. Most of the cars i have seen they are in more dire shape than that and would sell real quick, at least up here.
