Since most people probably weren't following my "Water pump?" thread, I thought it would be a good idea post this warning to everybody in a new thread. So, when buying gauges, factor in the "TCO." (Total Cost of Ownership!) From now on, I'm gonna hang on to my new IR thermometer, and I will verify the accuracy of every temp gauge I install on anything. So far, the (still cheap, just not cheap@ss) SunPro "Style Line" gauge is right on.
I don't care who makes it as long as it's accurate. Auto Meter does have a reputation for making good ones though.
im getting a set of stewart warner gauges out of a 72 mav i got for 300 bucks i posted a thread under general so look it up its my 2nd mav. even if it just for parts.
"Do you feel like we do?" Why yes I do! Autometer all the way. Unless of course I decide to make custom digital gauges.
how good are stewart warner im hoping there good and they work they have been sitting a little while so i got my fingers crossed.
Of course I did. Where else would I get one for $25? I tested it against a real thermometer though, and my body temp, and it does agree with my new temp gauge...
Lesson learned I guess. Hang onto that IR temp gun. I use mine for so many different things I cant even begin to list them. Misfires to the temp of cooking oil for fish.
