i have a 1974 Maverick with the 6cylinder, power steering, air conditioning, automatic. it has the sticker on the door post about the different engines and accessories and 2door/4door stuff but i couldnt understand it as to what is in my car. im doing a 331 swap but im interested in knowing if it is the 250 with the C4 so i atleast know i have a C4 to use. can anyone explain to me how to understand what it is saying is in the car?
Well mine said it had a 200. Turns out its a 250. plus I was told it was a c-4, but it looks like a c-6, turns out its some jatco crap.....
i read something somewhere that only the 250's had the C4's and the 200'2 had something else that wouldnt work behind a 302?? not sure
ALL Mavericks came with a C4. the 200 C4 transmissions are built as good as the 250/302 versions and will burn up behind a V8. all of them will swap around, just change the bellhousing and torque converter
thanks guys for the reply. i thought it looked like a C4 but i reckon its a lesson learned that not everything you read is true! my desire though is to do a T5 swap. i dont know yet... thanks
im trying to find a deal of a life time on a good toploader every one knows how thats working out. ha
yeah im trying i already know were i can get the clutch pedal assembaly i just need a tranny but for now im just going to build the 2nd c4 i have i guess
hey , thanks for the tease. does anyone have or know of a good source of information on the T5 swap? i will go with a toploader if it is just tooo much trouble to do a T5.
