I was out for a small test drive. I'm in the middle of the busiest intersection in the city and the car will not move. Tranny fluid all over the ground. I got pushed out of the intersection and got a ride home to get tools, jack stands etc. Went back, dumped a qt of fluid in and it pumped out as fast as it went in. I spoke to the trans place that did the re-build and they said it sounded like the front seal or the torque converter cracked. So, I have enlisted the help of a friend to come over and help pull it. we'll get it as his leasure. He wants to learn about cars. He is pretty handy so he will be a lot of help. This is me, once again, not driving my Mav.
check your cooler line, i made mistake of running rubber lines next to header, and it melted right on it, and looked almost exactly like what your describing
Fluid is coming out the bottom of the bell housing...as fast as it goes in when the engine is running
Front seal or TC. Does the TC have a drain plug? Front seal is a rather easy fix. Just sucks you gotta slide the tranny back.
I feel your pain Bob. I went through the EXACT same thing. Had the trans in and out 5 TIMES I replaced the front seal, & the pump seal. I never actually figured out what it was, as I ended up replacing the trans completely. I still have the transmission in the garage. I had a holeshot TQ converter that I bought used, and it held it's fluid just fine while on the floor. The trans didn't leak a drop until I started the car, and then it would literally pour out and onto the ground, I never even made it out the garage. The new trans has a leaky pan, but that's gonna be an easy fix. I hope you get this sorted out, and please do post the details of your findings, as I and I'm sure others would like to know what the problem ends up being. Good Luck!
