From what I have read, it is one inch wider overall but the perches are the correct width.

i have a 9" for a 66 mustang in my car. it pushed the wheels out about 3/4s of an inch. i run 275-60-15s and they used to lightly rub on the inside of the wheel tubs. i rolled the fenders and pushed them out about 1/2 an inch for the 66 diff.

yup, it'll bolt right in..... and like previously mentioned, it's about 3/4" wider on each side (barely noticeable)

The 66 Mustang used a slightly narrower (flange to flange) than our Mavericks and Comets but it will bolt right in - the perches are the same.
The 57 Ford 9" is the same width as the 66 Mustang but the 58-59 is the same as the Maverick.

the mav diff is slightly narrower than the mustang diff. pauls got it backwards. they are so close though that unless your running really big tires (275/60-15) and 8" rims, you wont really notice

I did some checking - at my age I should never trust my memory.....
The Maverick rear is 3/4" narrower than the 66 Mustang.
I apologize for the wrong info.
