got my alt and pully set up done just waiting for summit to send my new fan.also put the headers on the see how they look.any one khow what the tube on the last pipe is for.i think it a heat tube for a choke?
almost ready to drop it in.

thanks dave im trying my hardest to get this mav running and this winter i will do all the body work.

 

Very nice! It's hard to beat a polished set of good old H.O. valve covers.

 

At first I thought you were talking about a heat riser that provides warm air for the stock air cleaner assembly in the winter months, but after saving the picture and enlarging it so I could see it on this tiny monitor I'm using (netbook laptop), I can honestly say I've never seen one of those on a header before.

yeah i have never seen one before either so i will just cut it off as i have no use for it.its just a small tube wraped u-shape aroung the last header tube on the passenger side of the motor.

 

Homermav My 6901`s had that same tube on it ,I think it is for the choke.
I cut it off with a ziz wheel.

The motor looks really nice!
I have the same pulleys that you have on my green car also.

 

thanks m.a.v. thats what i thought too but wanted others opinions on that tube definitly going to cut it off.the only bad thing on the motor is the plug wires on the pass. side touch the header tubes.but my fab guy said i can get plug boot covers to keep them off the headers.

 

I've got the same headers, I cut the tube off too. As for the spark plug boot covers, their pretty pricey, just a heads up.

 

Very nice. Not sure where your going to tuck all that ignition cable though.

darren i was thinking about that too maybe route them around the front of the heads.maybe even cut them down even shorter.
