I just wrecked my 66 Galaxie drag car at Barona Speedway in California this weekend. I want to buy a Maverick/Comet drag race rolling chassis. Anybody know of one for sale?:thumbs2:

Sorry to hear about your Galaxie. Wish you Luck on the maverick. Let us know if you find one, and if you need anything for it.

Yeah, I was there Sat. too. Was it the dark blue one or the green one or some other one? Must have been after I left. Bummer, both of those cars were super nice. Sorry to hear about the crash.

Bryant, I saw your car there too. How'd you run?

I won't sell the maverick, but I do have a 63 falcon for sale. Complete or rolling chassis! And it's 80 lbs. lighter than my maverick!

    Want to buy
    Drag car rolling chassis

Thanks guys for the input. I am really looking for a drag race rolling chassis, kind of race ready, less engine, trans, etc. Those parts are still good so I would like to be able to transfer to a new car. We spent months getting the Galaxie ready and had a brake problem. We were at Barona on Friday night. Sounds like you guys were there on Saturday. We tried to slow it down by hitting the k-rail but went through the net and down the canyon about 20 feet. A real mess. Lucky for a boulder that stopped us. We looked at a Comet a couple of days ago. Someone called us about a Mustang, going to look at that in the next day or two. Anyway, thanks.

Hi Stefan, Good to hear from ya.
The SM portion is not gonna happen. Going to full tube it. As we get into it, its getting worse rust-wise. On hold for now. Not back to work yet. Maybe moving in feb, not by choice. If ya get what I mean. Need to down-size any way. Want to get my pre-fab shop up too.

The plan for the car is SFI 25-1E, double framerail. When the home situation settles down. Been collecting hard parts.Got my rearend, seat, motorplate, powerglide trans, block, rods,Dove heads.Im also building a 4-link, and a set of custom struts, originally from a 1980 Datsun 280ZX.
Basicly building componets right now to keep my sanity and fit my budget, which is about nill!

Motor will be a .030 BBF with early 4.3 Motorsport crank. They were stock rod journal size. So I can use the CJ/truck rods. Only gonna spin it to 6,800RPM at most anyway.
The old school way, a light car with a budget all steel engine, 521 C.I
The plan is 650+ HP and hopefully 9.20's for $8,000!
When I get to the core building it will be posted here in the project section.
Give me a shout sometime. Maybe we can meet up sometime. havent been to Milan this year, mainly Norwalk. That place rocks!
    Regards.
    Al

Sounds wicked, I'm trying to make mine (almost) a B/SM class car, I want it streetable, but fast.

And try making it to Milan next weekend, the 26th, Nostalgia Drags, I'm gonna be there.

Sounds like you're gonna have the fastest Mav in the state actually lol

I know this is real random, but there is a guy in Virgina who has a Comet/Maverick set up for the 7's. He had a 605 w/ about 1200 hp. I will find out if he is still trying to sell the car, less engine and trans.
