I saw a guy running a Weiand 174 supercharger on a 1968 Mustang, with an 850 holley.I was curious to see if any Mavericks had that same setup.I was thinking a nice 347 with a Weiand plus a built T-5 5 speed, posi rear with 3:55 would be sweet!! Let me know, thanks

There's a local guy runs one on a mid-60's Comet w/289. Says he figures it adds 100 hp or slightly more. His engine is basically stock, not optimized for a blower. Says the only changes he made was a bigger radiator/fan and a teardrop scoop for clearance.

I have pics of a Comet with this setup that I swiped off an eBay auction selling the car. Looked pretty bad@$$ to me.

I found a pic of a blue car as well... Don't know where I got it.

You are right. I could have sworn it was in the white car when I visited him a few years back. But looking back at the pictures in his photo album, it IS in the blue car.

Wish I could find the pictures I took....

Blown76, do you have any pictures of the blower in comparison to the distributor? I hear that is the problem area on fords, and would like to see how difficult it really is.

Can you show a pic of the side with the distributor?

Damned nice looking. I always thought a chromed BDS would look nice under/through my hood...

Dyers Blowers will make you any manifold you want,This was one of my hold ups on putting a 6-71 on mine. I also cant run the crab cap dist. due to my computerized ignition. The problem with the crab cap is you cant run very much timing advance Due to the terminal spacing. I talked with Mallory and several other manufacturers and 12-15 degrees advance was what they all recommended before crossfire issues would occur. Now on most Show cars this is not a problem as they are not looking for the extra power or fuel mileage that 50 degrees of timing offers. I personally talked with MR Dyer himself and his answer was "no problem, I build each and every manifold anyway". So although the blower may be a inch or so higher setting, Which with a 6-71 who cares about an inch higher anyway. You can get a manifold that will clear a large cap dizzy. So DONT let that hold you up from getting one. There is also the crank trigger route, Or the coil pack, The list goes on.
