They ought to put it on MythBusters and see if it could take a stick of Dynomite. Thats one Maverick I wouldn't mind seeing destroyed. It's kinda like putting a Chevy motor in an old Ford Coupe.

I know every one has their own likes and dislikes and thats why we are hot roders other wise we would have left it the way it came, and bought what we liked stock, but I think gear heads wont leave anything stock we make it what we want regardless of what everyone else likes. and yes I don't like the wheels or spoilers on it, but I can see that they fit great and how some could like it that way, me I started out with a 71 camaro like the green one and had five more before I ever owned a different type of car, then had a lot of gto's and firebirds etc. and finaly got into fords and mustangs , then got the maverick, and have seen all kinds of power train combo's, my buddies kept asking if I was puting a pontiac 455 in the 87 notchback mustang lx all the time, I like seeing a rare muscle car left stock , and like to see what brand loyal people make happen with what they have to work with, I also like to see the"dreamer" cars that people build when they don't lock out any ideas on how it should be and go what if? like this maverick, I think its neat that they threw a jap inline six in it , the only thing I wish they would throw in it is me....But scince that probably won't happen... maybe I should thow a 87" buick gran national turbo 3.8 V-6 in mine instead of the stroker sbf I was working on? too late already started on the stroker, and the 3.8 already has a home....may be next time.

I dont know if it was posted already (being there is 10 pages already), but in the Sept. (i think) issue of Hot Rod a guy put in a 1000 hp-6 spd manual set up in a 1st gen Camaro... I know it's a little of the topic from being a Ford product, but It was done nicely. I do not think it would have been my first choice, but hey...
