    Hi all,
I just traded My restored 1981 Honda CM400E Motorcycle for a 1972 Maverick. I was told it has a 302 V8 in it. I ran the numbers i found on the
intake manifold and they match a 289 V8 from a 1965 torino. Engine starts
but idles hard. Has a holley carb but i do not know if is the right carb for the engine. I'm gonna pull the Engine with a buddy of mine and see what i'm working with. Anyone know how to get rid of nasty black soft undercoating?

    lol....so much to do

    Solid lookin Mav there!

As for the undercoating, while you have the engine out pull the rest of the crap out from the engine bay and sand blat and paint.

Welcome to the forum. Nice car. The 289 and 302 intakes are interchangeable so it could be either.:Welcome:
