Darren, you are brave. That much power can get out of hand quick. Glad she likes it. Now she understands you a little better :)

    Who made you God? :rofl2:

I've always had my wifes name on the car. Divers window says Don Graham. Passenger side says Ruth Graham. When something breaks, I always tell her that her car needs some parts.:)

IF I had my way I'd go and get Ricks red Mav he has for sale. Too bad its in Texas. My wife could drive my Blue one.:)

I'm pretty sure she will take more interest in the car thing next year since she drove it. I'm sure a trip to the track next year since she wants to go faster. Guess I have no choice but to get some sticky tires now. :thumbs2::thumbs2:

No way could I sell her on the 6 cylinder. She likes a car with power and I'd get stuck driving the 6. Maybe I'll get that factory 302/AC car yet. (y)

Taught my wife how to drive in my blue one.Once she figured out the clutch...the tires were history :rofl2: She can wheel it like an old pro.Makes me look like an old granny sometimes. She hasnt driven the Sprint yet, wants to but hasnt. That may be a good thing at this stage. I have spoiled her with Exploders,Durangos and Mariners though...She do like her creature comforts...Sounds like you got her hooked Darren :drive:Hope you find another mav you like.

Very cool that your wife is involved.

Mine is the same way. When I had the Comet set up for bracket racing (4:62 gear), she no longer wanted to ride shotgun on the street (no traction... it scared her) but she wanted me to take her to the strip and teach her how to drive it there ... they really prep our track well. :thumbs2:

Yep my wife gets in her 300 and turns on the heated seats and off she goes. She loves that car and all the toys in it.. She thought it was fast until she drove the Mav. Her car can turn a corner and stop though.:)

Point of advice? Please break yourself of that bad driving habit!

Please don't take this wrong, but if you continue to drive like that, you're going to "Slam the Brakes" on a rain slick or icy road and you're not going to stop until your car makes solid contact with something or someone.

Trust me, I've seen it happen too many times.

the first day I got my maverick I knew I was in trouble, I droped it off in the parking lot of a friends machine shop where I used to work (it was late on sat. and couldn't get the title and plates done till tues.) my girl friend wanted to see it so I took her by and she literaly ran up and huged it like it was her long lost friend, she took her parents by to see it while it was on the lot..(I had to work).after everything was looked over and I started to drive it ,she wanted to go every where in it, then I let her drive it, (I was toast) then she'd borrow it and use it for her car for the day, and yes I do the look out for new dings and scratches but she has done good ,hell now i have to tell her no that one was already there as she's doing the same thing!!! she has no problem with getting parts for the maverick (she's even bought about as many as I have) ,but as I said I'm toast ,she's started calling it "her" car and even though I told her when I got it what I wanted to do with the car(V-8 swap, gears,9",rims,exhaust ,etc.) she's not liking the whole plan, she wants to leave it the way it is just fix what needs fixed and not BUILD a diferent car out of it. I have had tons of different cars (two 04 mustang gt's and one 07,a 87 notchback lx, gto's and camaro's etc.) and still have one 04 mustang gt and a 64 gto, but with all of the other cars she's like cool ,ok and thinks they are neat, but the maverick is toataly different for her, she realy is "into" it and it looks like I may need to hunt for another one sooner than I wanted,(I was thinking of making a drag car out of a 69.5 to 72?) after I finnished this car for the street, but may have to find another one sooner to make a street car as I'm slowly geting moved out of my current one! ha, ha,.
