Well my neighbors wont like me much tomorrow at 7:15am. Taking the Mav to work and it sure takes a while to warm up at these temps. Talking -2 overnight this week. I'm in denial that summer is over and keep driving the Mav. See I have this gap between putting the Mav away and the start of ice fishing. Figure the longer I drive the Mav the shorter the period of boredom until the ice firms up to get me some fishy's.
It happens so fast.... makes yer head spin, eh? Seems like only a month ago we were all cruisin and racin... a whole race park packed for a sunny weekend of tire smoke and charred burgers... ... oh yeah, it WAS only a month ago... but it was 25C and now we're gettin under 10C at night too.... never did find a rear defroster for my car this year.... I noticed my 180 thermostat is not exactly "efficient" in colder temps as well, and that ONE LITTLE TINY NOTCH in the choke dial seems to be worth about 3000 rpm depending on whether it's mild & muggy or cold and frosty. Hate those mornings the car fires up at full speed. Time for you and me to fabricate those custom made cardboard inserts that fit in front of the radiator. Just like daddy used to make in 1968 on his Galaxie.
It's 65 here right now. Don't know what you guys are talking about. We sure are getting a lot of rain right now for it to be this late in the year though. I hope that doesn't translate into snow when it gets a little cooler out. We got a day of snow back in January, and that's enough for me for the next few years! I hate snow!!!
We had the same drastic change here (albeit a much warmer temp range it swapped, it just started freezing over night). Borrowed my dad's rig tonight to go to work as I'd misplaced my Mav keys, about half way there I started thinking it was a lot damn colder than the 40 something on the thermometer above the mirror. Looked at the dash and the A/C was still on from the weekend before last.
When I was working mornings and living in an apartment complex, my neighbors absolutely HATED my 1976 F-150 with a 390 and glasspacks when I was driving it while my '93 Caddy was broke. I was nice though and only idled through the complex at 5:30 in the morning. -Scott H.
I hate winter, snow, being cold and wet...I pray every year for it not to come but it always does. The most I can hope for is no snow and a minimum of ice. If I didn't own my home I would move to warmer climates immediately.
Throw a snow shovel on your shoulder and start walking South, when you get to where someone ask you what that weird thing is on your shoulder? then you have reached a livable area.
Sure, we don't have Winter as most people know it, but with 8 days straight of rain, cloudy skies and fog, it sure FEELS like something besides what we normally have in October. I CAN'T get anything done on my car!! Garland, eh? I'm your Richardson neighbor! Chris
it's obviously not THAT cold here but it's 48 today (for the high) and absolutely pouring down the rain. supposed to rain all the way thru the weekend. boy this sucks....
Huh??? North Carolina. Winter?? Thats not winter. When I run out of room to put the snow and the snow blower doesnt fire it high enough thats Winter.
It's been in the mid 80's here in Phoenix but it's supposed to get up to 101 by Saturday...that's just nuts!
