Anybody know how to remove a stuck actuating rod from a master cylinder? It is not rusted, as it is all brand new. I inserted the rod to check installed length against my old master length, and now I can't get it to pull out.

Other than clamping the rod in a vise and prying on the new master, is there a trick to get it to release?

They can be a pain to get back out sometimes but usually a couple of twists and turns will get it. It only has a small expandable clip holding it in. Is there any reason you need to get it back out?

OK, I got it out. Man, it was in there but good. Bent the heck out of that little clip pulling it out. :hide:

I would have just left it in if it was the same length. It must be a Mustang rod, it's about 3/4" shorter compared to the Maverick rod and would have changed the pedal height.

    :)
